about the potter
Eric Pearson was born in Biggar, Scotland in 1963. After twenty-five years working as a bricklayer he changed direction and took up pottery. He trained with Hesketh Pottery in Lewes and Tom Young, Treave Pottery in Cornwall.
Eric now has his own pottery in Coldingham. He specialises in producing a white and coloured collection of contemporary design for everyday domestic use such as fruit bowls, pasta dishes, vases, mixing bowls, jugs and cups which is proving to be very popular.
He also enjoys Raku firing, an ancient Japanese firing process using rapid heating and cooling which was introduced to the Western world by Bernard Leach in 1911.
Eric has now started 1.2.1 lessons for pottery. If you are interested please contact him.
